Vertex Metals was established to source industrial metals and strategic minerals from global manufacturers and supply to UK industrial buyers — with quality, trust, and sustainability at the core of everything we do.
Vertex Metals Ltd is a steel and metals trading intermediary, positioned between international mills and UK-based steel service centres and industrial buyers. We act as principal in every trade — sourcing materials directly from vetted global suppliers and delivering to UK buyers under well-documented, internationally compliant contracts.
UK metals procurement has traditionally been shaped by long-standing relationships with established mills. Vertex Metals introduces a broader, more dynamic sourcing model — giving buyers access to a wider portfolio of qualified international suppliers evaluated against their specific requirements. Our supplier auditing function bridges the trust gap that typically limits exploration of competitive global alternatives, delivering greater choice, improved pricing transparency, and the compliance standards UK procurement teams require.
We are not a broker. We purchase from the supplier and sell to the buyer — acting as the contractual counterparty in every transaction. One compliant entity for your procurement, legal, and finance teams to deal with.
Every mill in our network is evaluated against our AML/KYC, sanctions, and technical quality criteria before any trade is executed. This includes assessment of metallurgical process controls and compliance with recognised British and European product specifications. Pre-shipment samples can be arranged to verify material quality against your specification before committing to volume.
Every shipment is documented to the standard UK procurement teams require — bills of lading, certificates of origin, mill test reports, and CBAM carbon-intensity data where applicable.
Vertex Metals' systems, processes, and trade documentation are designed to comply with ISO 9001 quality management principles from the outset of operations. We are not retrofitting compliance after the fact — we are building the way we want to be audited from the start.
ISO 9001 Accreditation — targeted after year one of operations
Our trade documentation workflows, supplier qualification processes, order management procedures, and internal review cycles are all structured to ISO 9001 requirements. We are actively pursuing formal accreditation following our first full year of trading. The accreditation will validate a way of working that is already embedded in how we operate.
Our supplier qualification process assesses metallurgical process controls — smelting procedures, cooling protocols, and finishing treatments — against relevant British and European specifications including BS EN 10025, EN 10088, and ASTM equivalents. Quality is assessed at source, not on arrival.
For new materials, new supplier relationships, or tight-tolerance specifications, we can arrange independent pre-shipment sampling and testing. Buyers receive confirmation that product meets their specification before full-volume shipment is authorised.
AML/KYC, sanctions screening, CBAM, EORI, VAT, and Isle of Man Companies Act compliance are all embedded into our operating structure — not managed reactively when an issue arises.
Every trade is documented to the standard expected by UK procurement, legal, and finance teams: bills of lading, certificates of origin, mill test reports, and CBAM carbon-intensity data where applicable.
Buyers and suppliers are welcome to get in touch to discuss requirements and qualification.
