Why Partner Who We Work With Our Standards Onboarding Register

A qualified route to UK industrial buyers

Vertex Metals acts as principal in every trade — we purchase from you and sell to UK buyers under our own contracts. You gain a qualified, reliable buyer with a growing UK industrial customer base.

Access to UK Industrial Buyers

Vertex Metals is actively developing UK buyer relationships across energy, automotive, construction, telecoms, and industrial manufacturing. Partnering with us opens a structured channel to these buyers without the commercial and compliance overhead of managing them directly.

Compliance-Managed Trade Route

We manage AML/KYC, sanctions screening, HMRC registrations, CBAM documentation, and trade compliance on our side of the transaction. You supply to a single, qualified Isle of Man counterparty — not to a chain of unknown end-buyers with varying compliance standards.

Trade-Agreement Advantage

For India-based manufacturers, the India–UK CETA (signed May 2025) delivers near tariff-free access to UK buyers. We structure our trades to maximise this advantage — making your pricing more competitive in the UK market compared to non-FTA origins.

Long-Term Relationships

We prioritise lasting supplier relationships over one-off transactions. Once you are onboarded and qualified, you become part of our supplier network — considered for every relevant RFQ we receive, with a clear and predictable qualification framework.

Structured Documentation

We work with you to ensure trade documentation — certificates of origin, mill test reports, packing lists, Bills of Lading, and CBAM carbon-intensity data — meets UK buyer and regulatory requirements. Proper documentation protects both sides of the trade.

Reliable Settlement

All settlements are by bank transfer or Irrevocable Documentary Letter of Credit. We operate a strict no-cash policy. You will always know how and when you will be paid before a trade is executed.

The types of suppliers we want to partner with

We work with manufacturers, mills, and producers across four principal metal families and critical minerals — primarily from India, with secondary origins across Europe, East Asia, and South America.

Aluminium Manufacturers

Wire drawing, rolling, and extrusion mills in Gujarat, Odisha, and other Indian manufacturing clusters. EC grade and 6XXX series aluminium alloy wire is our primary launch product.

Copper Producers

Copper rod, wire, tube, and sheet mills in India. South American copper concentrate producers are also being assessed under the CPTPP framework.

Steel Mills

Steel mills and fabricators from India, Europe, and East Asia capable of supplying to UK specifications with full mill certification and documented origin.

Mineral Producers

Producers of mica, manganese ore, bauxite, chromite, copper concentrate, and lithium battery precursor materials with ESG-certified supply chains and documented responsible sourcing credentials.

What we require from supplier partners

All supplier partners go through our onboarding process before any trade is placed. This is not a bureaucratic hurdle — it is how we ensure that trades are legally sound and that both sides of the transaction are protected.

AML/KYC Documentation

Company registration documents, beneficial ownership disclosure, and identification for key personnel. This is a legal requirement under our AML/KYC policy, not optional. Suppliers who cannot provide this documentation cannot be onboarded.

Quality Documentation

Mill test certificates, material data sheets, and quality certifications for goods supplied. UK industrial buyers require these as standard — we pass this requirement on to suppliers.

ESG Documentation

Basic environmental and labour standards documentation is required at onboarding for all product categories. For mica, lithium, and other high-risk materials, enhanced ESG documentation and certified responsible-sourcing credentials are mandatory.

Carbon Intensity Data

For aluminium and other CBAM-covered materials, we require carbon-intensity data at the facility level. This data is used to satisfy UK CBAM reporting obligations from January 2027 and to support our preference for lower-carbon supply. Suppliers who provide verified lower-intensity data may be preferred in competitive sourcing situations.

How we onboard and approve new suppliers

No supplier enters our network without completing every stage of this process. It is the same standard for every mill, regardless of size or origin.

01

Compliance & Financial Screening

We verify the supplier against our AML/KYC policy, run sanctions screening, review company accounts, and confirm applicable standards compliance — including ISO certification and CBAM obligations where relevant.

02

Product Quality Vetting

The supplier provides product samples for quality review. We also assess their existing customer base and export markets to establish their track record and the standards they already operate to.

03

On-Site Audit & Approval

A formal audit is conducted against UK import and quality standards, including an on-site visit and meeting with key personnel at the facility. No supplier is approved on documentation alone.

04

Logistics Verification & Approval

We confirm the logistics arrangement — either the supplier's own or verified through our logistics partners — and establish the supply line. Once all checks pass, the supplier is added to our approved suppliers list.
